The visit of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed to France, at the invitation of its president, Emmanuel Macron, is described as historic. It comes after the global praise that the UAE received from many countries for its assistance in evacuating their nationals from Afghanistan, and the volume of humanitarian aid provided by the UAE to the Afghan people, as well as opening its doors to thousands of Afghan refugees affected by the situation there.

In a joint statement, the two sides affirmed their strong determination to overcome regional challenges such as combating extremism and terrorism, as well as to enhance their cooperation in the fields of security and defense.

They also expressed their common desire to deepen and expand their strategic partnership, enhance the multilateral dimension and increase people-to-people exchanges.
