International Women's Day 2021: The achievements of UAE women inspire the daughters of Hawa

 


Today, the world celebrates International Women's Day at a time the Emirati women continue to achieve historic achievements, and have become a source of inspiration for all daughters of Hawa around the world.

The celebration of International Women's Day this year, which comes on March 8 under the slogan: “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world.”, is of special importance for Emirati women for more than one reason, as it comes a month after the UAE has made a historic achievement with the arrival of “Hope Probe"to Mars to be the first Arab country and the fifth country in the world to achieve such record, in which the Emirati women has had a prominent role.

That day also comes at a time the Emirati women play a prominent role in facing the emerging corona virus, and the UAE makes consecutive achievement despite the challenges posed by the Pandemic. The latest of these achievements was that Dubai Police General Command has won the EFQM Challenge Award 2021 for the category of "Diversity, Inclusion and Gender Equality 2021".

International Women's Day comes at a time the international praise and testimonies for the UAE's efforts in empowering women are frequent. The UAE has ranked first in the Middle East and North Africa in the report "Women, Business and Law 2021", issued by the World Bank. In addition, it has ranked 18th in the world and first in the Arab world in the Gender Equality Index issued by the UNDP for the year 2020.

This occasion also comes at a time the UAE celebrates its golden jubilee, to be a crucial occasion to monitor the achievements of the state in the process of empowering women over the past 50th years, and foreseeing its expected role in the second half of the state’s centenary.

Achievements that follow and confirm that the UAE has made unprecedented progress with the testimony of international  organizations in achieving gender equality and strengthening the status of Emirati women, and enabling them to fully contribute to the nation’s march with the support of the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, following the path of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan, who laid the first building blocks for the empowerment of women in the UAE.

Achievements through which the Emirati woman also confirms that the daughter of the UAE should be a strategic and pivotal partner in preparing for the next 50 years, along with her male brother.

The UAE Centennial 2071 seeks, through its vision and goals, to invest primarily in the UAE’s youth, to enhance the participation of women in all sectors, and to work for the UAE to be the best and most advanced country in the world.
