UAE provides a new achievement for humanity: 4th February.. International Day for Human Fraternity

The UN General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution declaring 4th February as "International Day of Human Fraternity", as part of an initiative presented by UAE, Bahrain, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. The international community will celebrate this day annually, starting from 2021.

In recent years, the world has witnessed a significant increase in violence, xenophobic speech, religious intolerance and other forms of discrimination. To counter these transnational threats, initiatives that encourage solidarity and unity among individuals, in a spirit of "human fraternity", must be supported. Accordingly,UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt, through this initiative, seek to celebrate all of our common values of accepting the other, openness, compassion, and showing love towards all people.

The adoption by the United Nations of 4th February as the International Day of Human Fraternity is a major historical achievement  for the Committee for Human Fraternity, and is an international recognition of the historical document of human fraternity signed by  Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar and His Holiness Pope Francis, in Abu Dhabi on February 4 of last year.
